Dr. Murtaza Keyomars Azarian: A Distinguished Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist
Dr. Murtaza Keyomars Azarian was born on December 25, 1989, in Kabul, Afghanistan. He completed his high school education in 2006 and subsequently pursued his medical degree at Kabul Medical University, where he enrolled in 2007 and successfully graduated in 2013.
In 2014, Dr. Azarian commenced his specialization in internal medicine at Jamhoriat National Hospital in Kabul, a rigorous training program that he completed in 2017. To further enhance his expertise, he undertook a two-year fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Biliary Sciences at Medanta The Medicity in Gurgaon, India, from 2018 to 2020.
During this intensive fellowship, Dr. Azarian actively participated in over 1,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, gaining substantial hands-on experience in advanced interventional gastroenterology. His expertise spans both adult and pediatric advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including:
1. Endoscopy (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)
2. Colonoscopy (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)
3. Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)

Upon returning to Afghanistan, Dr. Azarian joined Ariana Medical Complex as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Liver Specialist. Since then, he has successfully performed more than 1,000 advanced therapeutic procedures, significantly contributing to the field of interventional gastroenterology in the country.
Recognizing his exceptional clinical skills and leadership, Dr. Azarian played a pivotal role in establishing the Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Department at Ariana Medical Complex. Owing to his dedication and expertise, he has been appointed as the Head of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at the institution, where he continues to advance the field through clinical excellence, innovation, and mentorship.
