Dr. Abdul Wahed Sidiqi MD, FESC
Abdul Wahed Sidiqi is a highly accomplished cardiologist and medical educator. He earned his MD from Kabul University of Medical Science in 2001 and began his career as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the same institution in 2004. In 2008, Dr. Sidiqi completed a fellowship in cardiology in the Netherlands, where he gained specialized training in the field. The following year, he founded Ariana Hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, which has since become a leading institution in practicing and training professional cardiology. In 2011, Participated in International advanced training of Cardiovascular application in Seoul University South Korea.
In recognition of his expertise in Echocardiography, the Ministry of Public Health awarded him a trainer degree for Echocardiography in 2012.
In 2015, Abdul Wahed Sidiqi founded the Afghanistan Cardiovascular Association and was elected president of this society.
In 2017, Abdul Wahed Sidiqi earned a master’s degree in Invasive Cardiology from Avesina Tajik Medical University in Tajikistan; In the same year he Became a Professional member of the European Society of Cardiology .In 2018 he completed an online program of advanced TTE and TEE conducted by 123 echocardiography and Viana Medical University; In the same year, he founded a state-of-the-art medical center named Ariana Medical Complex in Kabul, Afghanistan, which provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients in the country.
In 2022, for his achievements in the field of Cardiology; the European Society of Cardiology board accepted him as FESC .
Abdul Wahed Sidiqi’s contributions to the medical field have varied significantly. He has demonstrated a deep commitment to improving the quality of medical education and practice in Afghanistan, particularly in the field of cardiology. His work has helped to expand access to medical care and training programs in the country, and his research has contributed to a better understanding of cardiovascular disease in the Afghan population.
- 2005 – Development of Basic ECG Curriculum and conducting training (3 months) for medical students at Kabul Medical University (more than 1000 Graduated from this Program)
- 2009 – Founder of Ariana Hospital, has been working as Chairman and Head of the Cardiology Department.
