About our department
The Obstetrics & Gynecology department of Ariana Medical Complex is serving women from last 12 years. As we know time of pregnancy is very delicate and sensitive not only for the woman but for her family too, our department gives support, education & information at all levels of pregnancy and post delivery period in friendly way. We provide evidence-based treatment with full authority to the women in taking part in her treatment. We are highly committed to provide positive experience during antenatal period, intrapartum time, and postpartum period. The relaxing and clean ambience of Obstetrics & Gynecology department is always in service to provide best services.
Our team
We are working as a team of 6 consultants, 4 medical officers, 15 midwives and 4 janitors in our ward. Each of them is committed to be part of an Obstetrics & Gynecology department which is role model for the services it provides.

Obstetrics Services are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week round the clock.
Gynecology services that we provide include
Dr Monis Amiri was born in a middle-class family in Kabul, Afghanistan. They fled Afghanistan in early 1990’s and sought asylum in neighbouring Pakistan. Dr Monis received her primary and secondary education from various government institutions in Pakistan despite being a refugee in the country.
After completing her secondary education with high grades, Dr Monis Amiri was granted full scholarship by the UNHCR under Albert Einstien’s DAFI scholarship program after going through a competitive selection process that enabled her to successfully complete Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur Pakistan in the year 2013. Dr Monis prides to maintain high academic merits despite all the hardship of a refugee life. She has expressed that lack of identity and a legal status in the country has been one of the toughest challenges she had to face during her academic career alongside other challenges, however her strong motivation and dedication for her passion to become a doctor were far greater than these challenges along the way.
Dr Monis Amiri continued her hard work and dedication towards continuous professional development and chose to study Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a field of specialisation in her medical career. She successfully completed FCPS qualification from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan which is five years competitive training-based qualification.
During this time, Dr Amiri has been working in a number of Gynaecology facilities to gain valuable knowledge and experience from diagnosing a patient to the final stages of surgery. Her outstanding performances during these times have been highly regarded by her supervisors and assessors.
After completion of the above said qualification, Dr Monis Amiri was employed as a Consultant in Hamid Lateef Hospital, Lahore where she served for two years. She then moved to her home country, Afghanistan in 2021 with the passion to serve her country with her hard-earned qualification and experience. Dr Monis currently works as a senior gynaecology consultant at Arian Hospital, in Kabul Afghanistan.
Dr Monis has strong patriotic connections with her home country and is a strong supporter of women. She is ambitious to establish a world class hospital in Afghanistan where she can offer medical services to the needy women who cannot afford child birth in private hospitals in Afghanistan. She aims to offer these medical services with no cost. She is ambitious in working with NGOs and other potential organisations to make this dream a reality.
