About Outdoor and Indoor services

The department provides outdoor services daily (except Friday). These services include Private OPDs. All consultants run their private OPDs daily. This department has 15+ patients admitted at any given time. The department caters to emergencies by attending to patients presenting with various GI and liver emergencies. There is round the clock availability of resident and consultants to treat these patients. The Institute is ably supported by the ICU, Oncology and GI surgery.

The DEPARTMENT OF LIVER GASTROENTEROLOGY & PANCREATICO BILIARY SCIENCES of Ariana Medical Complex is the only private hospitals in Afghanistan which is actively involved in research in the field of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. The various thrust areas include: Cirrhosis of liver, liver diseases in pregnancy, ileocecal diseases, acute and chronic pancreatitis, liver cancer, acute and acute-on-chronic liver failure, viral hepatitis, renal involvement in liver diseases, etc.

Ariana Medical Complex Gastroenterology & Hepatology department was established in 2008, and was equipped with modern technology in 2014  and named Department of Liver Gastroenterology & Pancreatico Bilairy Sciences.

Gastroenterology & Hepatolgy is a super specialty in medical division. The Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, basically a physician is trained in diagnosis and treatment of the diseases related to the digestive system, liver Pancreases and Biliary track. Department of Liver Gastroenterology & Pancreatico Bilairy Sciences is involves in management of patients suffering from disorders of digestive system and liver. These patients may be suffering from simple problems like indigestion, bloating, constipation, pain in abdomen, diarrhea, jaundice or difficult problem like blood in the vomiting or stools, liver failure, cirrhosis, ascites, bile duct stones, cancers of gall bladder, pancreas, food pipe, stomach, of intestine.
